Law Society Excellence Awards
What an evening! A modest contingent from DGB Solicitors (two) attended the Law Society Excellence Awards 2010 at Old Billingsgate on 21 October 2010.
Old Billingsgate itself is in a fantastic location with a terrace directly onto the River Thames. The bar area was vast and illuminated with brightly coloured and angled mood lighting, creating an evening venue out of the former fish market.
There was a huge turnout, well in excess of 500 people, which is just as well given the vastness of the venue.
The evening’s formalities commenced with an address from our host, Mishal Husain. Mishal opened the evening with a personal touch by sharing with the audience that her husband is a lawyer; an immediate bond was formed between host and audience.
We were lucky enough to be seated at a table with a really nice group of people (largely from Pannone's and Freeth Cartwright) and the formal part of the evening moved along at a pace.
Did we win? No we didn’t, but it made us realise just how special it was to be shortlisted. It also made us all the more determined to continue in our strive for excellence.
It was a fantastic experience. Next time.............
