Janet Fallon
Current Chair of the Port of Workington Harbour Board and a marine lawyer, Janet has worked in private practice with both Hill Dickinson and Weightmans. She has also worked in house at Mersey Docks and Harbour Company, and as an underwriter with the TT Club insuring a large book of port business. Most recently Janet was Group Insurance and Risk Manager for James Fisher & Sons plc, a UK shipping line based in Barrow-in-Furness.
Janet has a wealth of experience in contractual disputes, bailment, ship damage, charter parties, bills of lading, general average and the defence of personal injury claims. Janet joins DGB Solicitors as a consultant and brings with her both considerable and varied experience, and a practical approach to dispute resolution.
Outside of work Janet likes to view the world from a different perspective. She is a skydiver with around 1500 freefall descents under her belt made in a variety of places- Florida, New Zealand, Dubai, Spain, Portugal- but mainly takes the plunge at her local dropzone in the Lake District where she says "on a lovely day the scenery is second to none."
